EPFO Employees’ Enrolment Campaign 2026: Employers Asked to Bring Eligible Workers Under EPF Coverage

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched the Employees’ Enrolment Campaign 2026 (EEC 2026), giving employers a one-time opportunity to enrol eligible workers who were previously left outside the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) system.
The campaign was notified on June 29, 2026, and will remain open until October 31, 2026. It covers eligible employees who should have been enrolled under EPF between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2026, subject to the conditions prescribed under the campaign.
One-time opportunity for employers
The initiative is aimed at encouraging voluntary compliance and extending EPF, pension and insurance-related social security benefits to eligible employees who were not previously covered.
Employers can declare eligible employees provided they are alive and continuing to work for the establishment when the declaration is made.
The campaign also provides certain compliance relaxations. In eligible cases, the employee’s share of past contributions may be waived where it was not deducted earlier, subject to the applicable conditions.
UAN and online enrolment process
Employers participating in the campaign will have to complete the required enrolment and contribution formalities through EPFO’s designated online systems.
A Universal Account Number (UAN) is required for each declared employee, with face-authentication-based UAN generation through the UMANG application. Employers must subsequently deposit applicable contributions through the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) system.
Employers urged to review records
The Labour Ministry has advised establishments to review their employment and wage records to identify workers who may qualify under EEC 2026.
The campaign provides employers with a structured opportunity to address certain instances of past non-enrolment while helping eligible workers gain access to statutory social security benefits.
Employers with potentially eligible employees should complete the necessary verification and enrolment formalities before October 31, 2026, when the campaign closes.
