Disney Introduces Internal AI Dashboard to Track Employee Usage Trends

The Walt Disney Company is expanding its internal use of artificial intelligence with a new tool designed to provide visibility into how AI technologies are being used across teams. The company has introduced an “AI Adoption Dashboard” for select technology employees, offering insights into usage patterns of tools such as Cursor and Claude.
The dashboard presents aggregated data on metrics including the number of active users, total requests made, and tokens consumed over defined time periods. It also identifies high-usage accounts, creating what some employees describe as a comparative view of AI activity across teams.
This increased visibility has coincided with an internal trend informally referred to as “tokenmaxxing,” where engineers seek to maximise their use of AI tools. In some cases, this involves making large volumes of requests and consuming substantial computational resources. While this reflects growing adoption, it has also raised internal discussions around efficiency and cost management.
The company’s stated objective is to optimise AI usage rather than encourage excessive consumption. The dashboard is intended to help teams better understand patterns of use and manage resources effectively. Managers are encouraging employees to incorporate AI tools into their workflows, indicating a broader organisational shift toward adoption.
In certain instances, higher usage levels have been associated with automated processes or AI-driven systems operating at scale. Employees familiar with the initiative indicate that usage limits can be adjusted when required to support operational needs.
Disney’s approach aligns with a wider industry trend, with companies such as Meta Platforms and Visa also exploring internal mechanisms to monitor and scale AI adoption. As organisations continue to refine their AI strategies, such tools are playing an increasing role in measuring and managing integration efforts.
