Accenture expands Microsoft 365 Copilot rollout to 7.4 lakh employees, reports productivity gains

Accenture has significantly expanded its deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot across its global workforce, extending access to nearly 7.4 lakh employees. The move represents one of the largest enterprise-scale rollouts of generative AI tools to date.
The expansion follows a phased adoption strategy that began in 2023, starting with a pilot group of around 20,000 users before gradually scaling across the organisation. During the early phases, the company focused on strengthening data governance, access controls, and usage frameworks, while closely studying how employees incorporated the tool into everyday workflows.
Based on internal data from 2025, employees using Copilot reported faster completion of routine tasks, with a majority noting improvements in productivity and operational efficiency. Adoption has been supported through structured training programmes, internal communication initiatives, and peer-led learning to encourage practical usage across functions.
Usage levels have remained strong during the wider rollout, with some deployment groups reporting adoption rates of nearly 90%. Employees have been encouraged to use the tool across email, document creation, and collaboration platforms, helping build familiarity and consistent usage habits.
The impact has been particularly visible in areas such as marketing and communications, where teams are using AI tools to draft content, streamline messaging, and reduce repetitive work. The platform is also enabling employees in non-technical roles to handle more advanced tasks, including early-stage content creation and data-driven analysis.
The large-scale rollout reflects a broader shift among global enterprises toward integrating AI tools into core business processes, as organisations look to improve productivity and reshape workflows through automation and generative technologies.
